A heater that maintains water every day solves a different problem from one that warms a pool only before weekends. Write down the target water temperature, the coldest air in which you expect to swim, and how many hours of lead time you can tolerate. Heat pumps reward consistency

Judge each heating option twice: once for an uncovered pool and once for the realistic cover routine your household will follow. The most capable heater can still struggle when a warm pool is left exposed through a dry, windy night.
